10:30am – 1pm and 2pm – 4:30pm (Both sessions will have 15-minute breaks and there is an hour break between the two sessions for mindful eating and walking)

Course Information

This day is for anyone who has already completed an 8-week course such as MBSR, MBCT, MBCL or .b Foundations. The day will provide an opportunity to come into stillness as we practice a range of meditations such as the Body Scan, Mindful Movement, Sitting Practice etc.

Mindful eating will be practiced offline between the two sessions. There will be an opportunity to practice Mindful Walking indoors and outdoors. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and have a yoga mat and blanket handy.

Dominic received professional training in teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from both the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, University of Bangor and also the Institute for Mindfulness Based Approaches (IMA, Germany). He has also trained with the UK based Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) to teach the .b programme to adolescents, the Paws b programme to children and the .b Foundations programme to teachers and those working with young people. In addition, he works as a teacher trainer on the MiSP .b teacher training courses. He is a member of the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland (MTAI), the professional body for mindfulness teachers in Ireland.

Dominic has a particular interest in promoting mindfulness in schools and in supporting teachers to do so and has been involved in education as a teacher and teacher trainer in Ireland and abroad for many years. He holds a Masters in Education from the University of London and a Combined Certificate in Counselling Skills and Practice. He has been practicing mindfulness meditation for over fourteen years.

More recently, Dominic completed QQI Level 6 Diploma trainings in Inter-Spiritual Mindfulness Facilitation, as well as Soul Empowerment and Life Coaching. He has also completed a 6-day intensive Professional Training in Positive Neuroplasticity with the leader in the field, Dr Rick Hanson.

Dominic teaches MBSR courses to the general public and organises mindfulness workshops in Dublin and the surrounding counties. In addition, he offers introductory courses in mindfulness to community groups, businesses and public sector organisations and offers one-to-one mindfulness training on request. As well as teaching secular mindfulness and wellness programmes, Dominic also runs retreats and courses in mindfulness as spiritual practice. Dominic is currently a tutor on the Diploma in Inter-Spiritual Mindfulness Facilitation course organised by The Beehive School in association with John F. Doherty.

He continues to upgrade his professional training through attendance at workshops, retreats and conferences as well as maintaining his daily mindfulness practice. He adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines set out by both the UK and Irish Network of Mindfulness Teachers.
